The Friends of the National Institute of Nursing Research (FNINR) provides resources to support nursing research and advance the mission of the National Institute of Nursing Research.

The FNINR seeks to support research-based practice by educating all health care professionals, Congress, and other appointed and elected officials, and the public about advances made through nursing research and its benefits to patients, families, the community, and the delivery of quality health care.

Take Care Health Systems

Take Care Health Systems is a network of health and wellness companies committed to providing affordable, high-quality healthcare for families and employees. Take Care Consumer Solutions manages more than 350 Take Care Clinics at select Walgreens throughout the country, staffed by a team of over 1,200 APRNs. Each of our clinics is open 7 days a week to provide easy, affordable access to high-quality healthcare for adults and children. Take Care Employer Solutions provides worksite-based health and wellness services. This group manages primary care, wellness and occupational health centers at nearly 370 employer campuses across the country.

Upon joining the Friends of the Nursing Community, the Take Care Health Systems stated: “We would like to be able to better coordinate our advocacy activities with those of the nursing groups.”

What is Friends of the Nursing Community?

Who can join?

The Friends of the Nursing Community (FNC) is a broad-based collaboration that helps to promote America's Health through nursing care. FNC partners with the Nursing Community to advocate for sound public polcy that improves the health and health care of the nation with a specific focus on the unique contributions of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs).

Any healthcare related organization that agrees to support and/or currently champions the core NC principles as outlined in the Nursing Community mission may join. There are no fees to participate.
