Fiscal Year 2017 Appropriations
On July 14, 2016, the Full House Appropriations Committee passed their Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education (LHHS-ED) bill. The spending package recommends a level of $229.472 million for the Nursing Workforce Development programs (Title VIII, Public Health Service Act). For the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the bill recommends a total of $33.3 billion, an increase of $1.25 billion over FY 2016. Within the total NIH budget, the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) would receive $150.008, an increase of $3.52 million over FY 2016.
